This event is no longer on sale.

Sunday May 12

9:00 AM  –  1:00 PM

With Lloyd & Charlene Shiver

Event rating: 3 - Moderate difficulty.

Maximum mileage - 6 miles

Enjoy a group outing along one of the finest day-hike loops in the park. We'll start our day on a wide, old logging road along the big waters of the Little River. After 2.5 miles we'll transition onto Cucumber Gap Trail that was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Additional highlights are water scenes, wildflowers and the potential to spot wildlife in its natural habitat.

What to bring: In addition to plenty of water, an appropriate amount of food for your comfort and comfortable hiking shoes, we recommend that you dress in layers, bring along a backpack and rain gear. A personal first-aid kit and trekking poles may be helpful as well.

Meet Lloyd and Charlene Shiver at the Little River Trailhead located in Elkmont, Tennessee. 4.9 miles from Sugarlands Visitor Center 1420 Fighting Creek Gap Road Gatlinburg, TN. Just before the campground entrance station, veer left. Parking is 0.6 mile up.
